Mysteries and danger are daily duty in the life of a bodyguard in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius--or so ex-legionary soldier Felix hopes when he signs on. Who is threatening the life of the young girl he has been hired to protect? What secrets have followed him from his own past? And who put the bear on top of that arch?
SPQR Blues is a comic-strip epic about ordinary people, based on the lives of the real-life inhabitants of the ancient Roman city of Herculaneum in the days before it disappeared in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
The SPQR Blues: I-IV graphic novel is 194 pages and collects all the online comics from chapters I-IV (2005-2015), plus:
- 4 "Sunday" comics
- historical and story notes
- 8 pages of doodles, pencils, sketches, and poster and bookmark art
- and the first scenes of Chapter V: Roma
